Credit limits and policies
Override one company's checkout rule with Quay's Manual override
Quay's Manual override sets checkout for one company whatever its policy says: on the company's page, pick Force allow, Force pay-on-order or Force block new orders and click Save.
Quay is a Shopify app that enforces per-company credit limits and late-payment rules at B2B checkout for wholesale merchants.
Works on: any Shopify plan with B2B · About 1 minute · Matches Quay as of November 2026
Manual override is for one company you want to treat differently from its policy until you end it. While it is on, the company’s policy and its over-limit check are paused, and checkout does what the override says. This works for the companies your Quay plan covers: see Change your plan in Quay.
Set an override
- In Quay, open Companies and click the company’s name.
- Under Enforcement, choose one of these in Manual override:
- Force allow: orders go through as usual.
- Force pay-on-order: every order is paid at checkout.
- Force block new orders: new orders are blocked at checkout.
- If you like, type a note in Reason (optional). Your staff see it in the company’s history.
- Click Save in the bar at the top of the page. Quay shows “Credit settings updated”.
The Enforcement card then names the override, for example “Manual override, so new orders are blocked at checkout”.
Remove an override
On the company’s page, choose Use policy (default) in Manual override and click Save. The company’s policy applies again.
Override several companies at once
- In Companies, tick the box beside each company.
- Click Manual override.
- Choose the override in Manual override and click Apply.
Find companies with an override
In Companies, filter by Enforcement and pick Manual override.
What happens next
The override stays until you set Manual override back to Use policy (default). Until then, the company's policy and credit limit do not change what checkout does for it.
