What buyers see
Add Quay's Finance and payments page to Shopify customer accounts
You add Quay's Finance and payments page and Account alert to Shopify customer accounts once, in the account editor, so B2B buyers see what they owe and their credit.
Quay is a Shopify app that enforces per-company credit limits and late-payment rules at B2B checkout for wholesale merchants.
Works on: any Shopify plan with B2B · About 3 minutes · Matches Quay as of November 2026
Quay puts two things in your buyers’ Shopify customer accounts: the Account alert, a banner on the orders page that tells buyers why their checkout is restricted, and the Finance and payments page. Quay can’t add them for you, so you add them once in Shopify’s customer account editor.
Add the Account alert
- In Quay, open Settings. Under Buyer portal, click Open customer account editor. Shopify’s customer account editor opens in a new tab, on the Orders page, with Quay’s two blocks listed under Apps. You can also reach the editor in Shopify admin from Settings → Customer accounts → Customize.
- Click + next to Account alert, then pick Orders.
- Click Save in the editor. If you’re adding the Finance and payments page next, you can save once at the end.
Add the Finance and payments page
- In the same editor, click + next to Finance and payments, then pick Accounts. If the side panel shows the alert’s settings, close them with the X and click All first. If you closed the editor, click Open customer account editor in Quay again.
- The page opens with sample figures. To put it in your buyers’ account menu, click Add to menu in the side panel. Shopify asks you to save your changes first: click Save.
- Shopify opens the Customer account main menu with a Finance and payments item filled in. Click Save there.
The page shows the buyer a Payment summary. If the company has a credit limit and credit figures are on, it also shows a Credit summary: the limit, how much is used and how much is available. A company your Quay plan doesn’t cover sees the page without figures.
Choose what buyers see
- In Quay’s Settings, under Buyer portal, tick or untick Show credit figures to buyers. It is on until you turn it off. Off keeps the page and hides the credit figures.
- Tick Show statements to buyers to add a statement section to the Finance and payments page, with every order that still has a balance and a PDF statement buyers can download. It is off until you turn it on. While Quay is still bringing in your order history, the box can’t be ticked yet.
- Click Save in the bar at the top of the page. Quay shows “Settings saved”.
While the setup guide is open, the same steps appear in its step 5, “Add credit details to buyer accounts”, on the Dashboard, the page Quay opens on. Click Mark as done there once you’ve added them.
On Shopify Plus
On a Plus store, while you are on a Quay plan or trial, step 5 of the setup guide is called “Add credit details to buyer accounts and checkout”. Above the buyer account steps, it offers to take payment at checkout for the order that would go over the limit (see Shopify Plus: take payment for over-limit orders). Under “Also add the payment terms notice to checkout”, it shows the steps for the checkout notice (see Add the Payment terms notice to checkout).
What happens next
Buyers at a company find Finance and payments in their account menu, and the Account alert on their Orders page when their checkout is restricted.
