Native Shopify B2B vs Quay
Shopify gives you the controls to extend credit. Quay gives you the controls to manage it.
Shopify B2B handles the mechanics: Net 30 dropdowns, payment terms per company, vaulted cards. What it does not include is the consequences — who is overdue, who is at their limit, who should be paused. That is the layer Quay adds, and nothing else.
When you do not need us
Worth saying before the table. If you have a handful of wholesale accounts — say under ten — and someone reads every draft order before it goes out, then native Shopify B2B already does the job and you should keep your $39.
Quay earns its keep at the point where reading every draft stops being realistic, or where you no longer know off the top of your head which companies are behind. That is usually somewhere between twenty and fifty accounts, but it depends far more on how much credit you extend than on how many accounts you have.

The five rows where Quay reads "—" are not gaps we are apologising for. They are Shopify's job, they work, and duplicating them would give you two places to keep the same setting.
See it against your own accounts
Install Quay and it reads the companies and orders you already have, so the first thing you see is your own AR, not a demo. Enforcement stays off until you turn it on.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need an app for B2B credit limits on Shopify?
Not always. Shopify gives every plan companies, per-company payment terms and a setting that sends each order to draft for manual review. Under about ten wholesale accounts, reviewing every draft by hand is a perfectly good system and costs nothing. An app earns its place when reading every draft stops being realistic.
What does native Shopify B2B do that Quay does not?
Vaulted credit cards and ACH, deposits and partial payments at checkout, and catalogs. Quay does not replace any of that and does not try to — it reads the same companies and orders Shopify already holds and adds the credit layer on top.
Does Quay change how payment terms work?
It uses Shopify's own terms rather than inventing its own. The one thing it does change is availability: when a company is over its limit under a pay-on-order policy, Quay clears that company's payment-terms template so the order is paid on the spot, then restores it afterwards.
Is any of this Plus-only?
No. Everything Quay adds works on Basic, Grow and Advanced as well as Plus. The Plus-only items in the table above are Shopify's own features, not ours.
