New: credit limits right on Shopify company pages
Your team doesn’t live in Quay. They live in Shopify admin — on the company page, releasing orders, answering calls. And until now, the one question that page couldn’t answer was the one that matters most before taking another order: where does this company stand on credit?
Now it can. Quay adds a “Credit limit (Quay)” card to your company pages in Shopify admin. It shows the credit limit, how much is used, and what’s available — and the current checkout status with the reason spelled out. Not just “blocked”, but which invoice is overdue, how late it is, and which policy rule fired. A manual hold shows the note your team left. And there’s an “Open in Quay” link for when someone needs to change something.
The numbers are the same ones checkout enforcement reads, updated as orders and payments happen — so what the card says is what checkout will actually do.
Adding it is a one-time step (Shopify doesn’t let apps place admin cards by themselves): open any company page, choose Add block at the bottom, pick “Credit limit (Quay)”, and pin it. It then appears on every company page for your whole team. The step-by-step guide covers the setup and how to read each status.
What hasn’t changed:
- Your buyers see nothing new. The card is staff-only, inside Shopify admin. Buyer-facing surfaces — the account notice and the checkout message — are exactly as before.
- Nothing about enforcement moved. The card is a window, not a switch: limits, policies and checkout behaviour work precisely as they did.
- A Quay problem never blocks your page. If the card can’t load, it steps aside quietly — the company page, and your checkout, carry on.
One tip: the status reflects your policy settings. A company that’s over its limit with no policy assigned will honestly say so — “nothing is enforcing it.” If that’s not what you want, assign the company a policy and the card will show the real outcome: pay on order, or blocked.
